Find your matcha. Then your best pizza, your best ramen and the croissant you’d fly back for.
What you can do in Matcha
Rank every food you love
Take a photo of the dish, pick one from your library or skip the photo. Matcha suggests the place from the photo’s location, and you score the dish from 1 to 10 in half steps. Add the price and a note if you like. Back from a trip? Pick a batch of photos and add them one after another.
Every food gets its own ranking, and you decide what the foods are: pizza, ramen, gelato, tacos, matcha latte. See your rankings by food, city, restaurant or year. When a dish takes the top spot, Matcha shows “New #1 in Pizza”.
Keep a Want to try list
Heard about a place? Find it on the map, tap Want to try and add the dish you mean to order if you know it. When you go and add that dish, the place moves off the list and into your rankings. More in Make a food bucket list and Restaurant wishlist app.
See your places on a map, city by city
Each place you’ve rated sits on the map with the score of your best dish there. Places you want to try are pink pins. Filter by food or score to find your best coffee nearby. Every city also gets its own page with your best dishes there, ranked.
Bring your Google Maps lists
In Google Maps, share a list to Matcha, or paste its link in Profile › Import from Google Maps. Choose the cities and places you want, and they land on your map and in Rankings › Restaurant as saved places. The import runs on your iPhone. Step by step: Google Maps list to iPhone.
Share a card or send your places
Friend headed to Paris? Make an image of your top 5, your #1 or a podium, sized for a Story, a post or a square. You can make one from a food, a city, a list, a year or a single dish. It’s an image, so your friend doesn’t need Matcha to see it.
Send my places sends a link instead. Your friend opens it in Matcha and picks the places to save. Each one lands in their Want to try with your best dish there and its score. They get a copy, so nothing they do comes back to you.
Score together in shared lists
Start a list for a trip or a pizza crawl and invite friends through iCloud. Everyone adds dishes and scores them. You see your friends’ scores only after you’ve scored the dish yourself.
Here for matcha?
Add each matcha latte you try and score it. Matcha ranks them across cafés and cities, and the cafés you haven’t tried yet wait in Want to try. More on the matcha rating app page.
